APEC summit: President Concludes Working Visit To Honolulu

Honolulu, Nov 15 (ANTARA)- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono left Honolulu in Hawaii after attending the 19th Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit on November 12 and 13, 2011. The Garuda Indonesia special plane flying the President and his entourage took off from Hickam Air Force Base in Honolulu on Monday g at 8 am local time, or in Jakarta at 1 pm. The President and the First Lady were scheduled to arrive at Ngurah Rai international airport in Bali on Tuesday, November 15, 2011. The President will be in Bali from November 15 to 20, 2011, to chair the ASEAN summit, ASEAN+3, and the East Asia summit, as this year`s ASEAN chairman. He said the ASEAN summit will formulate concrete measures to overcome the delayed economic growth following the financial crisis in the euro zone still as the main item in G20 and APE summits. US President Barack Obama sheduled to attend the East Asia summit will also visit Bali after hosting the 19th APEC summit also attended by President SBY. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev canceled his attendance to the East Asia simmit because of the general elections in this country. When attending the 19th APEC summit, President SBY made a speech at the APEC CEO summit 2011 entitled "Asia Pacific Century" describing the role of Asia and the Pacific as the world`s growth axis in the 21st century. President SBY also attended the meeting with American business leaders who expressed their confidence in the Indonesian economy.
