Arak Research Reactor Progressing Based On Schedule - AEOI Chief

Tehran, Nov 28, IRNA – The Arak heavy water research reactor project is under way based on schedule thanked to the endeavors of the Iranian experts, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Fereydoun Abbasi Davani said Wednesday. Addressing a ceremony to commemorate the martyred Iranian nuclear scientist Majid Shahriari, the AEOI's chief said despite some rumors about progress of the research reactor, the project was under development with no problem. The official added all security and safety measures have been taken to prevent enemies from making any obstacles on the way of launching the research reactor in due time. The Arak heavy water research reactor is located in Markazi Province some 260 km southwest of the capital Tehran. According to the AEOI chief, the research reactor had no technical problem and would become operational with virtual fuel in a near future./end
