Ardebil welcomes Rouhani; Majlis impeaching his minister

TEHRAN, Aug. 20 (MNA) – Iran’s President Hassan Rohani and the 11th cabinet have left Tehran for Ardebil Province for their 7th provincial visit while the Iranian parliamentarians have started a minister’s impeachment. Rouhani and his cabinet left Tehran to Ardebil, capital of Ardebil Province, and will meet with the local government officials and elites, parliament representatives and major personalities of the provinces. Furthermore, the government would make more informed decisions when closely studying the region and the province. Meanwhile the impeachment of Reza Faraji Dana, Iran’s minister of Science and Research, which was officially raised in Iran’s Parliament last week, is officially kicked off Wednesday morning. According to Iranian Constitution, a minister can be impeached by a request from at least 10 MPs. Within 10 days after the impeachment is officially announced on Parliament floor, the impeached minister should answer to the questions of MPs after which the Parliament would give a confidence or no-confidence vote to the minister. In spite of earlier reports from officials about President’s Rouhani’s presence in impeachment session, Rouhani did not attend the meeting due to his provincial trip. The 11th cabinet took off to northwestern Ardebil province as its 7th provincial meeting. The 1st provincial visit of the 11th cabinet was to the southwestern province of Khuzestan in Iraq borders. Rouhani and his team for the 2nd provincial visit flew to southern province of Hormozgan which lies on Persian Gulf. They visited southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan on Pakistan borders as their 3rd provincial trip. The 11th cabinet shifted to west, once more, and as their 4th provincial trip they visited Ilam province. The four first visits of the Rouhani cabinet were all to the border provinces for they are the most deprived provinces. Later Rouhani led the cabinet in its 5th such visits that time in Lorestan province. President Rouhani and his team flew to Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province two weeks back to make their 6th provincial trips. Iran currently has 31 provinces and the 11th cabinet, like that of the 9th and 10th, plans for provincial visits to closely study the conditions, closely meet with the people in each and discuss local situations with the governors to make decisions for developments of the provinces.
