Armed resistance only way to deal with Zionist regime: Supreme Leader

TEHRAN,July 26(MNA)– Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said that armed resistance is the only way to deal with the Zionist regime. “Until the time this cold-blooded murderous regime is obliterated through the help of God, the only way to deal with this destructive regime is strong armed resistance,” the Leader said during a meeting with a number of university students in Tehran on Wednesday evening. He also said, “As Imam Khomeini stated, Israel must be annihilated, but of course the annihilation of Israel as the only real cure does not mean exterminating the Jewish people in the region.” “There is a practical mechanism for this logical plan, which has been proposed by the Islamic Republic at international forums,” he said, adding, “The people who live and belong there should select their desired government through a referendum, and in this way the usurping fake regime will come to an end.” “No one should think that the Zionist regime would have backed away (from its military campaign against the Gaza Strip) if there had been no missiles in Gaza, because this regime also kills and humiliates the people in the West Bank although the people there do not have missiles or guns, and their only weapon is stone,” he said. Elsewhere in his remarks, the Leader said the Zionists are trying to reach a truce with the Palestinians because they have faced strong resistance in the Gaza Strip and this proves that the Zionists only “understand the language of force.” “In view of these facts, we believe that the West Bank should be armed like Gaza, and those people who are concerned about the fate of Palestine should be active in this regard… in order to reduce the pain and suffering of the Palestinian people,” he added.
