Ashton Ready To Discuss Iran's Proposals In Moscow

Tehran, June 12, IRNA – European Union Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton said she was ready to discuss Iran's five proposals during Moscow talks. In a phone conversation with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili, she said the G5+1 is ready to review in Moscow Iran's five proposals which were put forward during Baghdad negotiations both on nuclear and non-nuclear issues. Stressing the need for the success of Moscow talks, she hoped that the two sides would reach a common point based on proposals put forward by Iran and the 5+1. Jalili said the lack of readiness of the G5+1 member states for expert talks in the past twenty days halted progress of constructive talks. He further stressed the need to respect agreements reached during Istanbul and Baghdad talks. Saying that Iran will elaborate on its proposals during Moscow talks, he said proper response to them would pace up the talks./end
