Asian Parliamentary Assembly Condemns Zionist Regime's Atrocities In Gaza

Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA – Asian Parliamentary Assembly on Saturday condemned Zionist regime's air strikes on Gaza which left dozens of deaths on the elderly, women and children. "Once again the Israeli regime has embarked on an adventurist policy leading to disastrous humanitarian, economic, and social plight of the Palestinian people. During the last couple of days, the occupying regime has been attacking the innocent people of Gaza from land, sea and air in total contravention of the international law. Israeli unprovoked assault against Gaza has resulted in the killing and injury of hundreds of Palestinians. The Zionist regime has also threatened to enter the Gaza Strip and once again occupy it. The latest Israeli assault deserves strong condemnation from the international community," read the statement, issued by the APA Secretary-General Hadi Nejad-Hosseinian, a copy of which was made available to IRNA. It said the Asian Parliamentary Assembly has always taken a principled position in supporting Palestine and protecting the rights of Palestinians. It has deplored, in the strongest terms, the crimes and atrocities committed by Israeli leaders in Gaza and the West Bank. It has also condemned the attack by Israel against aid flotilla for Gaza which had been under illegal siege. The APA Secretary-General calls upon the United Nations Security Council to shoulder its responsibilities, under the UN Charter, to condemn the Israeli attack on Gaza and take the necessary measures to prevent further attack against Palestinians which may lead to a human catastrophe in the region. It said that the Secretary General calls upon all the international humanitarian organizations as well as the UN members to provide humanitarian assistance to the defenseless people of Gaza suffering from ethnic cleansing perpetrated by Israeli leaders./end
