Assad’s resignation to mean meeting terrorists’ demands - Russian Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. The demands for the resignation of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad are in line with terrorists’ logic, Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Maria Zakharova told a press briefing on Wednesday. "They try to persuade us that, if Assad resigns, the terrorist activity will decline, as the Islamic State [terrorist group] is waging a war because of Assad. This is the direct implementation of terrorists' logic, one cannot interpret these statements otherwise," she said. "It’s very odd to hear the civilized world suggesting meeting terrorists’ requirements," Zakharova noted. "In the past, when international terrorism and terrorist attacks were discussed, the world spoke with one voice and acted very resolutely, nobody said, "Let’s meet terrorists’ demands to reduce their influence and minimize the impact."
