Assad seeking peace, ready for compromise - Putin

MOSCOW, March 17. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday praised the constructive position of his Syrian counterpart, Bashar Assad. "We see his restraint, sincere striving for peace and readiness for compromise and dialogue," Putin said as he presented state awards to Russian servicemen who took part in the counter-terrorism operation in Syria. The Russian air task force conducted an anti-terror operation in Syria during the past five months. Their operation was highly appreciated by the head of the Russian state.
