Assistant to Azerbaijani President: “We call on international community to strongly condemn this atrocity and act of vandalism”

Ganja, October 11, AZERTAC “The collected materials will be brought to the attention of relevant international organizations through both the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We call on the international community to strongly condemn this atrocity and this act of vandalism,” Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev has told a briefing held in Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second largest city, which was subjected to shelling by the Armenian armed forces late at night on Sunday. “We call on the international community to respond adequately to these events,” Hikmat Hajiyev said. At least nine civilians were killed and 33 others wounded as the Armenian armed forces fired missiles into Ganja, which is located far from the conflict zone, just two days after Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to a humanitarian truce mediated by Russia.
