Aung San Suu Kyi is here

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The 1991 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Chairperson and General Secretary of National League for Democracy of Myanmar, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi arrived here to participate in the 7th Ministerial Conference of CoD April 28. She is the one of the guests of honor who are participating in the conference by invitation of Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia. She will give a lecture together with Ts.Elbegdorj April 30 at the Government house. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi will meet with journalists at the Civil chamber under the President. Aung San Suu Kyi was born June 19th, 1945, is a daughter of Burma's independence hero Aung San, who was assassinated when she was two years old. She was educated in Burma, India, and the United Kingdom. Aung San Suu Kyi, Burma's pro-democracy leader and Nobel Peace laureate, has come to symbolize the struggle of Burma's people to be free. She has spent more than 15 years in detention, most of it under house arrest. She was released from her current third period of detention on Saturday 13th November 2010.
