Austrian President Hopes For Expansion Of Tehran-Vienna Ties

Vienna, Feb 18, IRNA – Austrian President Heinz Fischer has hoped that grounds for promoting Iran-Austria relationship would be prepared. In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sidelines of Iran-G5+1 new round of talks in Vienna Tuesday, he expressed his countryˈs interest in broadening ties with Iran. Describing his meeting with President Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of UN General Assembly meeting in New York as useful and constructive, he said he was optimistic about enhancement of mutual cooperation in all fields through reciprocal visits by the two countriesˈ officials. Welcoming the new round of talks between Iran and six major powers, Fischer further hoped that the current meeting will produce fruitful results. Zarif, for his part, referred to the good record of cooperation between the two countries and hoped that mutual collaboration will further improve, especially in the field of economy. During the meeting, the two officials discussed regional and international developments including Syria crisis and results of Geneva II Conference./end
