Azerbaijan’s interfaith delegation meets with officials of California

Baku, May 21, AZERTAC As part of their visit to San Francisco, the interfaith delegation representing Muslim, Christian and Jewish faith communities of Azerbaijan, led by Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mubariz Gurbanli has met with member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Norman Yee, and California State Senator Jerry Hill. Consul General of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles Nasimi Aghayev attended the meetings. Members of the delegation also visited the Presidio Chapel, Grace Cathedral and Sherith Israel Synagogue in San Francisco, and familiarized themselves with their activities. Azerbaijan’s ancient traditions of multiculturalism and multi-faith tolerance and harmony were discussed during the meetings. It was also noted that people Peaceful co-existence of people of different ethnic and religious backgrounds in dignity and mutual respect in Azerbaijan was hailed, underlining that these traditions have already been elevated to the level of state policy in the country.
