Azerbaijan became region’s center – Abdullah Gul

Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr.30 By Anakhanum Khidayatova – Trend: Azerbaijan has achieved great success in all spheres, including in the political and economic fields and has turned into the center of Caucasus, Turkey’s former president said. Baku is a historical city which has always been in the spotlight of the international community because of its energy opportunities, Turkey’s former President Abdullah Gul told reporters in Baku Apr.30. Gul said that Ankara follows Azerbaijan’s achievements and is proud of it. “Baku has become the center of political and cultural events [in the region],” he said. The former president also said that Azerbaijan plays an important role in the region and emphasized the significance of the projects coordinated by the country. Among these projects, Gul named the projects for construction of Southern Gas Corridor and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway.
