Azerbaijan can export huge amount of natural gas to Europe, Azeri FM

Baku, December 8 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijan has an opportunity to export huge amount of the natural gas to Europe, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said in his interview to Bloomberg Agency. Mammadyarov underlined negotiations with the European Commission on different ways of Azerbaijani gas delivery to Europe ‘are underway’ and added that the decision on the best one can be made in the beginning of the next year. The projects as part of the Southern Gas Corridor (Nabucco, TAP and ITGI), which aim at transporting gas to be produced during the second stage of Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas field, have already submitted their proposals to the Azerbaijani side. Azerbaijan plans to supply 10 billion cubic meters per year to the European market. Foreign Minister stressed that all necessary documents, including the transit agreement were signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey, adding it`s important to define route how to supply the bigger volumes of gas not only to Turkey but also to the European market.
