Azerbaijan joins anti-corruption meeting in Paris

Baku, April 22 (AzerTAc). The 13th Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ACN) Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan Monitoring Meeting of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) was in Paris. The event was attended by OECD member countries including the Eastern Europe and Central Asia nations, UN, OSCE, CoE, World Bank and other international organizations. Azerbaijan was represented by chief of the organizational and information provision division of the central Anti-Corruption department of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Rovshan Aliyev and prosecutor of the division Sahib Ismayilov. The country reports of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and other countries were heard at the meeting. Speaking at the event, Aliyev told of President Ilham Aliyev-led anti-corruption measures, implementation of the national action plan on the combat against corruption in 2012-2015, respective anti-corruption laws, activity of the ASAN Service etc. The third round of monitoring for Azerbaijan was successful. The organization welcomed the progress the country achieved in the follow-up to the recommendations given in September last year. The organization praised the steps taken towards execution of the recommendations during the past six months. The discussions on the third round of monitoring for Tajikistan were held at the event. Aliyev who served on the monitoring group as an expert provided his feedback and proposals. The meeting discussed network`s action plan for 2014.
