Azerbaijani ambassador presents credentials to Fijian President

Baku, May 16 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani ambassador to Australia and Fiji Rovshan Jamshidov has handed over his credentials to President of the Republic of Fiji Brigadier-General Ratu Epeli Nailatikau. The President congratulated Jamshidov on his appointment, expressing confidence his tenure would give impetus to the cooperation between the two countries. Nailatikau thanked the Azerbaijani government`s assistance sending Fiji`s peacekeeping forces to Iraq when Azerbaijan was a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. The ambassador stressed he would spare no efforts to contribute to strengthening the bilateral ties. Jamshidov also met Fijian Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister`s Office Pio Tikoduadua and Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Amena Yauvoli.
