Azerbaijani delegation attends 7th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues

Baku, May 26, AZERTAC An Azerbaijani delegation led by head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev has attended the 7th international meeting of high representatives in charge of security issues held in Grozny, Chechnya, Russian Federation. The participants included representatives of 75 countries. President of Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov and Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the North Caucasian Federal District Sergei Melikov addressed the opening ceremony. Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev read out Russian President Vladimir Putin's letter. Deputy Executive Director of Counter-Terrorism Committee of the UN Executive Directorate Weixiong Chen read out UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's congratulatory message. Head of the Presidential Administration, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev highlighted Azerbaijan's experience in the fight against terrorism and extremism, as well as the country's achievements in addressing migration challenges. He emphasized that these issues were under the control of President Ilham Aliyev. The two-day conference focused on counteraction to extremism and terrorism, on regional and international security linked to migration processes and on shaping of the system of international information security. During the visit, head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev held bilateral meetings with President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolay Patrushev, as well as the heads of Belarussian, Hungarian and Romanian delegations.
