Azerbaijani FM meets Zimbabwean counterpart

Baku, April 11 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has today met Zimbabwean counterpart Simbarashe Mumbengegwi. Mr. Mammadyarov stressed the importance of the Zimbabwean FM’s visit to Azerbaijan. The Minister noted Azerbaijan was determined to expand relations with African countries. He stressed the significance of the bilateral cooperation with Zimbabwe in a number of fields, particularly education, tourism and economy. Mr. Mammadyarov said it was important to strengthen the legal framework of cooperation. They underlined the necessity of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in international organizations, particularly the United Nations. The FM informed his Zimbabwean counterpart on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying that Armenia had ignored international organizations’ resolutions and decisions and continued the occupation of Azerbaijani territories for more than 20 countries. The Zimbabwean Minister said his country was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in a variety of fields.
