Azerbaijani Minister of Transport meets Georgian Premier

Tbilisi, January 28, AzerTAc Azerbaijani Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov has met Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili. They discussed prospects for developing cooperation in the field of transport, particularly the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway. They stressed the importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project. They noted that the project would give a push to developing trade relations, and increasing passenger transportation between Europe and Asia. Mr. Mammadov jointly with Georgia's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Giorgi Kvirikashvili will review situation on the railway and launch a test train on the line. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project is built to create an energy corridor by rail mainly supplied by Azerbaijan.
