Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation visits China

Shanghai, March 3 (AzerTAc). An Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation led by first vice-speaker Ziyafat Asgarov has visited China on the invitation of the People`s Political Consultative Committee (CPPCC). The delegation included parliamentarians Siyavush Novruzov, Aliaga Huseynov, Rauf Aliyev and Ali Masimli. The Azerbaijani delegation visited the Sian, the capital of the Shaanxi province, to meet Vice President of Shaanxi Political Consultative Committee Liu Xinwen and Vice Chairman of Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference Zhou Taitong. They stressed the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s visit in 1994 and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s visits in 2005 and in 2008 to China in developing the bilateral relations. They noted that Azerbaijan and China supported each other within international organizations. They also spoke of economic development of China, the world`s second biggest economy. The sides explored ways of developing the Azerbaijan-China relations, particularly inter-parliamentary cooperation.
