Baku, April 3 (AzerTAc). Visiting Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov have today held a joint press conference to highlight the issues they had discussed in a bilateral meeting. The ministers said they discussed the Azerbaijan-Russia relations, and regional problems, particularly the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The ministers said they agreed a text of a joint statement which “reflects the relations between the two countries over 20 years”. According to the Azerbaijani Minister, Russia made a lot of efforts towards solution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: “It`s important to underline Russian President Dmitry Medvedev`s and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov`s efforts on this front. I do not lose optimism that we will achieve progress in the problem because current status quo is unacceptable.” A collection of 85 agreements signed between Azerbaijan and Russia in the last 20 years was presented at the press-conference.
