Azeri diplomat visits Gaziantep province of Turkey

Gaziantep, May 17 (AzerTAc). A delegation led by Azerbaijani ambassador to Turkey Faig Bagirov has visited Gaziantep province of Turkey, where several meetings have been held. In the meeting with Deputy Mayor of Gaziantep Goksen Unsal, the sides praised bilateral relations between fraternal nations. Faig Bagirov met with local businessmen in Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce. The ambassador noted that the cooperation between Azerbaijan ad Turkey in economic and other spheres expands day by day. “Trade turnover has been increased from 2,5 bln USD to 3,5. Nowadays, 20 companies from Gaziantep operate in Azerbaijan. Good potential exists for strengthening of the relationship and both sides must raise their efforts,” Faig Bagirov added. Mr.Bagirov and chairman of the Turkish-Azerbaijani Business Council Cengiz Gul touched upon the importance of implementation of new projects, especially joint activity of entrepreneurs in the region for strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries. Mehmet Aslan, chairman of Board of Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce (GTO) said that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey would increase twice this year. He also underlined that the Azerbaijani businessmen could use opportunities of the province for exit to Arabian countries and the continent of Africa.
