Bahrain Calls For Iranˈs Presence In Anti-Daesh Confab

Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA - Bahrain has called for Iranˈs participation in an international conference which is to be held in Paris, France, on Monday against the terrorist group of Daesh, an English language Bahraini newspaper reported on Saturday. "Iran's willingness to help root out IS is something we welcome just as other countries that are willing to show up in Paris to draw up the roadmap," Bahrain's Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said Friday evening, the (Persian) Gulf Daily News reported. He made the statements on the sidelines of a seminar organized by former Arab League secretary general Amr Moussa at the Isa Cultural Hall, Juffair, on the Arab region's turmoil. Referring to Iran as an important regional country, Shaikh Khalid said Tehran's participation in Monday's international conference in Paris would be beneficial in the fight against the Daesh terrorists. Stressing Iran's "key role" in fighting against Daesh terrorists, he said the fight against Daesh has to come from different angles. But the most important thing is to find ways to stop regional people from joining it. "Without doubt, the issue will take time and for that we have to come up with solid ideas that could be implemented." Bahrain and nine other Arab countries agreed, in a joint communique on Thursday, to stop the flow of funds and fighters to Daesh and help rebuild countries affected by the militants./end
