BAKEI MP MEETS WITH SDC DELEGATE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Chairman of the Standing Committee on State Structure A.Bakei MP on Monday met with Mr Deepak Elmer, a Vice Director of Cooperation of Consulate Department of Cooperation Office at the Swiss Embassy. After thanking A.Bakei MP for the reception, Mr Elmer noted that the 10th anniversary of cooperation development between Mongolia and Switzerland is coinciding with the 50th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations this week. He also clarified some matters relating to projects funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation /SDC/ and the UN Development Program /UNDP/, before the sides exchanged views on these issues. A.Bakei MP highly spoke about several successful projects themed “Strengthening capacity of local governance organization” and “Supporting law-making process with civic participation” running in Mongolia, and talked about multilateral measures taking place. Noting that the previously-rejected draft law on control will be re-submitted, MP A.Bakei said that a law on state service must be renewed as well. In response, Mr Deepak shared his opinions on realization of Bayan-Olgii province-based projects, and asked Mr Bakei to draw a particular attention to the projects running in this province during the meeting with Mr Denis Luthe, a head of the SDC for East Asia matters.
