Basij Commander Dismisses US Sanctions As Futile Attempt

Birjand, June 2, IRNA - Commander of Iranˈs Basij (volunteer forces), Brigadier-General Mohammad-Reza Naqdi on Saturday dismissed the US sanctions on Iran as futile attempt. He said in his address to a group of Basiji forces in Darmian city that the government must adopt resistance economy is the best way to win in this economic war. All people should do their best to implement economic epic advised by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution the ground for such great achievement is well prepared. He said that the US has no more courage to meddle in affairs of other countries as people have been awakened and will stand up to the US measures strongly. Naqdi said that the US has lost its cultural influence due to its treason and mass killing of people in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no doubt that Iran has turned into one of the most powerful defense power in the region as well as in the globe, he said. Elaborating on Iranian progress, Naqdi said that in the past, Iran used to import all its scientific and industrial needs, but, it has attained self-sufficiency in nuclear technology as well as civil and military aviation. He made it clear that the international community acknowledges political power of the the Islamic Republic of Iran. On the popularity of the Islamic Republic of Iran, he said that Iranian nation never withhold popular support for the Islamic governing system and they will demonstrate their support to the government by massive turnout in the upcoming presidential election./end
