Basij Completely Ready To Bury Enemies' Dreams : IRGC Official

Tehran, Oct 18, IRNA – Lieutenant commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Thursday that Basij (Volunteer) forces were completely prepared for a full-fledged defense against any threats and would "bury enemies' "dreams" of inflicting a damage on the Islamic Republic of Iran. Brigadier General Hossein Salami made the remarks addressing Basij forces and a group of the IRGC commanders in a ceremony held in the Iranian capital to start a three-day maneuver by Basij forces. The commander referred to Basij as a "formula for strategic defense" made by the Father of the Islamic Revolution the late Imam Khomeini. He stressed that Basij forces would never give in to the enemies' threats. Over 15,000 Basij forces and the IRGC commanders started a three-day maneuver in an eastern district of this capital city Thursday morning to demonstrate their combat power against any possible attacks of enemies. Code-named as 'Ála Beit Ol-Moqaddas' (Towards Beit Ol-Moqaddas), the maneuver is being held also to condemn the latest insult of enemies to the holy Prophet of Islam (PBUH) which has provoked anger of Muslims worldwide. The forces are to hold a massive protest rally in Tehran's Palestine Square on Friday to show their protest to sacrilege of the Islamic sanctity./end
