Belarus ambassador: Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has developed rapidly despite living in blockade

Nakhchivan, July 2 (AzerTAc). “The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic has been developing at a rapid pace despite living in blockade,” said Belarus ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikolai Pastkevich. “Nakhchivan is today one of the leading regions in Azerbaijan for its development parameters,” the ambassador told journalists as he visited the Autonomous Republic. Mr. Pastkevich praised the creation of “state-of-the art industrial facilities” in Nakhchivan. The ambassador said Belarus had advanced experience in producing automobiles and different kinds of agricultural machinery, adding: “Nakhchivan has also made significant progress in this sphere”. Mr. Pastkevich hailed the relations between the Belarus city of Brest and the city of Nakhchivan. “An agreement on cooperation in economic, trade, humanitarian and cultural fields was signed between Nakhchivan and Brest in 2012.”
