Belarusian leader to visit to Russia for Union State talks

MINSK/MOSCOW, February 26 /TASS/. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will visit Russia on March 2-3 to take part in the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, the presidential press service reported on Thursday. "The meeting will focus on key issues connected with the Union State activities, including the budget, coordinated foreign policy and the development of the socio-humanitarian sphere", the press service said adding that bilateral issues will also be on the agenda. The Kremlin press service confirmed on Thursday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the session on March 3 and hold separate talks with Lukashenko. The agenda of the upcoming session was discussed in Minsk on February 24 by Alexander Lukashenko and Grigory Rapota, the State Secretary of the Union State. According to Rapota, the original agenda can be expanded, taking account of multiple various events that took place recently and the need to discuss a number of pressing problems. Read more
