Benin Representative Office To Open In Tehran

Tehran, March 11, IRNA – Beninese Foreign Minister Nassirou Bako-Arifari said on Sunday that the Beninese representative office will open in Tehran soon. He told a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi that the representative office will be upgraded to Embassy later. He said that Iran-Benin ties date back to dozens of years ago and that bilateral relations were always excellent, which of course should be developed in commercial and financial fields. Benin is a country dependent on energy, he said, noting that Iran boasts of numerous technologies in the field of energy. He hoped that they would use Iranˈs experience in a bid to take path to economic development. Expressing pleasure with nuclear talks between Iran and 5+1, he hoped that the two sides will develop a fair approach towards resolving the issue. Bako voiced his countryˈs readiness to welcome President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in upcoming visit to Africa in April and said that bilateral ties will further develop because Beninese government underlines expansion of bilateral economic and commercial ties. Commenting on the establishment of embassy in Tehran, he said that efforts are underway to inaugurate embassy at the earliest./end
