Berlin Reaffirms Iran's Key Role In Resolving Regional Crises

Berlin, Oct 28, IRNA -- A German foreign ministry spokeswoman here Monday reiterated Iran's crucial role in settling regional crisis hotspots. Speaking at a regular weekly government press briefing, Sawsan Chebli said that Iran plays a central role in tackling regional crises, especially when it comes to combating the ISIS. Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has repeatedly stressed Iran's importance in resolving the crises, notably in Syria and Iraq, she addded. The German foreign minister has earlier strongly welcomed Iran's participation in the fight against the ISIS. The minister hailed also Iran's 'constructive' role in the creation of a new Iraqi government. 'This was a positive process and a good and successful experience,' Chebli was quoted saying last month, alluding also to Tehran's role in supporting a UN resolution against ISIS. Some western countries have time and again called for Iran's participation in the anti-ISIS terror campaign over the past weeks. /end
