Berri: Main War Today Between Iran, US Mentalities

Beirut, Jan 17, IRNA – Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said here Monday today’s main war is between Iranian and US mentalities, in which taking advantage of cultural, artistic, and media capabilities for conveying message of revolution to world nations is necessary. Berri made the comment in a meeting with the visiting Iranian Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini and his accompanying delegation. Accompanying Hosseini in the meeting were Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon Qazanfar Roknabadi and Islamic Parliament Member Seyyed Ali Hosseini, and deputy culture minister in artistic affairs. Berri referred to the excellent and old relations between the Lebanese people, Shi’as in particular, and thinkers with the Iranian nation, adding, “No one has ever managed to weaken this deep cultural relation, and a river of thoughts and ideas has always been flowing profoundly between the two countries.” Nabih Berri also condoled with the Iranian delegation on the recent martyrdom of the young scientist, Mostafa Ahmadi-Roshan, reiterating, “The enemies are opposed to the glowing of even a single light of hope, sciences, and blossoming within the Islamic countries, which is why they have unleashed their entire wrath against our countries’ expert individuals by assassinating them.” Hosseini, too, emphasized in response, “We consider these terrors as a sign of their weakness and the impotence of the US and Israel in pursuing their regional plots in the region and in the world.” He added, “They have realized that their sanctions have not managed to halt the growth and progress of the Iranian scientific and technological programs, and that is why they have resorted to such wretched acts.” Turning to parliamentary affairs, Hosseini said that the roles of the two countries’ parliament members is important is supporting the existing level of relations, adding, “Although the loss of a scientist is a great loss, but such moves have no effect save for further strengthening the will of the Iranian youth and scientists for pursuing the path of these martyrs.” Hosseini said that the message of the Islamic Revolution is the same as the message of the Infallible Household of the Prophet (P), adding that the Islamic Awakening Movement in the world is under the influence of the resistance shown by the Islamic Revolution of Iran and the resistance of the Lebanese nation in the course of their 33 Day War. University professor, Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, was killed last Wednesday during the rush-hour in the capital, Tehran. His driver was also killed in the terrorist attack. Wednesday's blast occurred on the second anniversary of the martyrdom of Iranian university professor and nuclear scientist, Mas’oud Ali-Mohammadi, who was also assassinated in a terrorist bomb attack in Tehran in January 2010./end
