Boeing-777 investigation should be controlled by UN - Lavrov

MOSCOW, July 28 (Itar-Tass) - Boeing-777 crash should be investigated under U.N. control, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Monday. “We are alarmed about the fact that some of our partners are trying to transfer practical investigation into the course of separate bilateral talks with the Ukrainian government,” Lavrov said. “An investigation mission should be determined by the UN Security Council, based on its credibility and have security guarantees,” he said. Russia will seek a ceasefire on the site of Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 plane crash, Lavrov said. “We heard Ukrainian President Pyotr Porosenko's pledges. But his words do not match his deed. The fighting continues. The Ukrainian army uses the Grad rocket launcher systems,” he said. “We'll insist the U.N. Security Council resolution, demanding a safe access for experts, be implemented,” Lavrov said. He said Russia hoped that no one would try to cover traces in the investigation of the Boeing crash. “We’ll insist on an impartial and transparent investigation of the crash. We hope that no one will try to cover tracers in the investigation of the crash,” Lavrov said. Related news on itar-tass.com
