Boroujerdi Confers With Algerian Parliament Speaker

Tehran, Oct 15, IRNA -- Chairman of Parliamentary Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi and Algerian Speaker of Parliament Abdul Qader Bin Saleh in Algiers on Monday held talks on issues of mutual interest. The Algerian speaker expressed pleasure with his previous visits to Iran and invited his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani to visit Algeria. Bin Saleh hailed political and parliamentary relations between the two countries, saying, the Algerian officials are determined to promote ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, the Iranian senior lawmaker appreciated good cooperation between Tehran and Algiers since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, but he called for certain obstacles on the way of economic cooperation between the two countries to be removed. The two officials underlined that Iran and Algeria share views over regional and international issues, such as the Syrian crisis and Iranian nuclear issue. They expressed their opposition to any foreign intervention in regional crises. Alaeddin Boroujerdi arrived in Algeria on Saturday at the head of a high-ranking parliamentary delegation./end
