Boroujerdi: Military Solution To Syrian Crisis Reaches Deadlock

Damascus, Aug 27, IRNA -- Head of Iranian Majlis' National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that since the military solution in Syria has reached a deadlock, the number of supporters of diplomatic solution to Syria's crisis is rising. Boroujerdi made the above comments at a press conference held in the Iranian Embassy in Damascus on Sunday and after his several meetings with the Syrian officials. 'One of the best opportunities for resolving the Syrian crisis is through diplomatic means given the new approach of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting which is underway in Tehran,' he added. Boroujerdi expressed hope for witnessing moderation in the policies pursued by Turkey in its encounter with the Syrian crisis. 'I discussed the Syrian crisis with the Turkish officials during my recent visit to Turkey,' he added. He pointed out that Turkey is one of the important countries of the region and it is hoped that a change in policies of that country would help to reaching a diplomatic solution to Syrian crisis./end
