BRICS countries should establish partner relations for common development - Xi Jinping

UFA, July 9. /TASS/. BRICS member countries should establish partner relations facilitating their common development, China’s President Xi Jinping said on Thursday. "We need to build closer partner relations by joint efforts," the Chinese leader said, adding that BRICS countries complement each other’s advantages. Xi Jinping also stressed the importance of "setting up headquarters of the New Development Bank and regional center in Africa." BRICS is an association of five major emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa - founded in June 2006. The first official summit took place in June 2009 in Russia’s Yekaterinburg. Since then, meetings at the highest level are held annually in member-countries. The last summit took place in Brazil.
