BRICS ministerial meeting to be held in Moscow in spring - Russian senior diplomat

MOSCOW, January 20. /TASS/. Foreign ministers of the BRICS member nations, i.e. Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, will meet in the Russian capital city in the coming spring, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and BRICS Sherpa Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday. "A BRICS ministerial meeting will take place in Moscow in the spring," he told a news conference dedicated to Russia’s presidency in the BRICS. "A major meeting between Security Council officials will be organized in the first half of the year. According to the Russian diplomat, most of BRICS events, such as conferences, meetings and working contacts, are scheduled for January- July. "It doesn’t mean that we will curtail our activities after the summit in July," he stressed. "There will be a summit in Riyadh in November, a ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in September, and a range of other significant events." Read more
