Britain Lifts Sanctions On Six Iranian Institutes, Individuals

Tehran, Oct 6, IRNA – The British Treasury Ministry on Sunday lifted imposed sanction on six Iranian institutes and individuals, including the Sharif University of Technology. The Iranian National Oil Tankers Company, Mo’allem Insurance Company, Surinet Company and Sina Bank are among the institutes deleted from the British Treasury Ministry’s sanctions list. The British ministry has in a communiqué announced that the sanctions imposed against those institutes had been based on a verdict issued by the EU Court, based in Luxemburg. The institutes whose names are mentioned in that communiqué had been sanctioned on pretext of contributing to dodging the anti-Iranian sanctions in relation with the Iranian peaceful nuclear program, and the EU-claimed possible dual military aspects of it. The EU Court’s recent verdicts in favor of those institutes have been issued from June 4 to July 3, 2014. The British Treasury Ministry’s communiqué says that since in the allowed two month period from the issuance date of those court verdicts no appeals request has been registered at the EU Court, the issued verdicts are to be implemented and the assets belonging to them will be freed./end
