British Foreign Secretary Welcomes Improving Ties With Tehran

London, Sept 24, IRNA – British Foreign Office said in a statement that London welcomes improving of ties with Tehran. The statement, which was issued following a meeting between the UK Foreign Secretary William Hague and the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on the sideline of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, also stressed the need for progress in the nuclear issue. Expressing his satisfaction with the meeting with Zarif, Hague said the two officials discussed bilateral ties, situation in Syria and Iran’s nuclear program and highlighted role of Iran in settlement of the Syrian crisis. Hague further voiced readiness of London to improve relations with Tehran. He said his country welcomes the recent remarks of the Iranian President and foreign minister regarding Tehran’s interest for boosting ties with the entire world./end
