BSEC Secretary General welcomes agenda of Russia’s chairmanship - Russian foreign ministry

MOSCOW, January 18. /TASS/. Secretary General of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Michael Christides has expressed satisfaction with the agenda of Russia’s chairmanship in the organization in the first half of this year, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Monday following meeting between Christides and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. "(The two sides) exchanged views on topical issues of the development of mutually advantageous cooperation and good-neighborly relations in the Black Sea region," the ministry noted. "The Russian side’s information on events to be held during the Russian chairmanship in BSEC in the first six months of 2016 was received with satisfaction." According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the parties paid particular attention to improving BSEC efficiency. "The participants in the meeting unanimously spoke out in favor of further development and improvement of multifaceted cooperation within BSEC on a pragmatic and non-politicized basis," the ministry added.
