Bulgarian President meets with Azerbaijani FM

Baku, October 31, AZERTAC Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met with President of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev on the sidelines of his official visit to Sofia. FM Elmar Mammadyarov extended greetings of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to President Rumen Radev. The Bulgarian leaded thanked for President Ilham Aliyev`s greetings and asked Mammadyarov to extend his greetings to the Azerbaijani President. The sides hailed the high-level cooperation between the two countries. They stressed the both countries` interest in developing cooperation even further. Especially the importance given by both countries to the deepening of cooperation in energy and transport fields was underlined. President Rumen Radev praised the launching of direct Baku-Sofia flight following the joint statement made together with President Ilham Aliyev during his visit to Azerbaijan in October, 2017. The important role of the direct flight, especially with a view to developing ties between the sides in the field of tourism was underlined. The signing of the “Joint Statement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria on Strategic Partnership” during the official visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Bulgaria was highlighted in terms of paving way for establishment of favorable political grounds for further development of the relationship.
