Cabinet meeting in brief

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting held last Saturday decided to convey some proposals to a draft amendment to the law on regulating public and personal interests in the public service and on preventing conflicts of interests. This amendment has been initiated by J.Batzandan MP. Pursuant to a cabinet decision, the 90th anniversaries of Arkhangai, Zavkhan, Tov and Khentii aimags will be celebrated on July 26-28, 2013. Proposals on marking the anniversaries have been made by these aimags, and regional sports festivals will be organized within the events. In conjunction with making the State House open for public, the cabinet decided to establish a room for showing historical films and hosting lectures and meetings at the Historical Museum of Mongolian State. At the cabinet meeting, the Foreign Minister L.Bold introduced results of his official visit paid to Kuwait on April 16-17. During the visit, the sides shared views on widening the Mongolia-Kuwait economic and technical cooperation and on implementing joint projects to be realized in line of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED), such as, a project on constructing a new parliamentary house. The Prime Minister discussed issues on tackling problems in Orkhon and Bulgan aimags during working in these aimags, and then ordered Ministers and governors of aimags to take measures for solving the matters in accordance with a specific plan, and to report the implementation to the cabinet. The Mongolia-Poland intergovernmental economic cooperation agreement was finally adopted. Signed on January 21, 2013 in Warsaw, this agreement resumes a matter on establishing the intergovernmental commission and determines the prior spheres. As of 2011, the bilateral trade turnover was USD 36.5 million (export-USD 47.1 thousand, import-USD 36.4 million and investments-USD 6.4 million), and it reached USD 57 million by the year 2012. The cabinet discussed and backed issues on opening Mongolian Embassies in Jakarta city of Indonesia and Brasilia city of Brazil, re-opening the Embassy in Kabul city of Afghanistan, the General Consulates in Istanbul (Turkey), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) and Consulates in Hailaar city (China) and Pusan (South Korea). It will be consulted with the related parliamentary Standing committee. By a cabinet decision, a complex building with 8,500 square meters located in the 2nd khoroo (smallest administrative unit in Ulaanbaatar) has been transmitted into ownership of the Mongolia-Germany joint technological institute. The cabinet discussed and approved a directive for the Mongolian delegates to participate in the 2nd meeting of the Mongolia-Germany intergovernmental working group on the cooperation in mineral, industry and technological sectors. The meeting will be held on May 8 in Ulaanbaatar. The Cabinet Secretariat of Government gave a report on its activities done in March of 2013 in accordance with a duty of providing the cabinet with information. According to the report, the cabinet met five times, discussing some 80 issues and getting acquainted with 30 matters. Also it issued 55 governmental resolutions, 77 notes and five orders of PM. In addition, the cabinet decided to submit two issues to parliament, to convey two issues to draft law initiators, and to introduce one issue to the National Security Council (NSC). 12 issues have been postponed to discuss.
