Ceremonies To Commemorate University Student Day Starts

Tehran, Dec 7, IRNA – The ceremonies to commemorate the University Student Day kicked off in Shahid Beheshti University in the presence of President Hassan Rouhani here on Saturday. President Rouhani is to deliver a speech in the ceremony and will answer questions of the students. University Student Day is the anniversary of the murder of three students of Tehran University on December 7, 1953 by Iranian police during the Pahlavi era. The police opened fire on the students protesting at the resumption of Iran's relations with Britain and visit to Tehran of the then US vice-president Richard Nixon, following the 1953 coup détat./end
