Chair of Azerbaijani State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs to attend session of ECOSOC Commission in New York

Baku, March 5 (AzerTAc). Chair of the Azerbaijani State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova will leave for New York to attend the 58th session of the Commission on the Status of Women of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) that will take place at United Nations Headquarters from March 10–21. Alongside with state representatives, the event will bring together non-governmental organizations. Huseynova will deliver a speech at the opening session. The event will focus on challenges and achievements in the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals for women and girls, access to and participation of women and girls in education, training, science and technology, including the promotion of women’s equal access to full employment and decent work. Huseynova will meet heads of the UN funds of people and children as part of the visit.
