China hails Russia’s roadmap on Korean Peninsula settlement

DALIAN /China/, June 28. /TASS/. Russia plans to come up with an initiative on a gradual reduction of state support provided to agriculture in the World Trade Organization (WTO) member-states at the conference due in December in Argentina, Deputy Economic Development Minister Alexey Gruzdev said at the World Economic Forum on Tuesday. "It is necessary to bring the general level (of support) down, though each country has its own amounts, that is why a gradual reduction of such support is needed," he said. According to Gruzdev, though Russia’s government props up the agricultural sector, the amount of funds invested is lower than in other countries, such as the European Union and the United States. "There are quite a few countries with the amount of local support provided to agriculture much higher than in Russia, which creates additional competitive advantages due to substantial subsidies.
