China to work with new Russian government for the sake of global stability - diplomat

BEIJING, January 22. /TASS/. China will work with Russia’s new government to take bilateral ties to a new level in the interests of global stability, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang told reporters at a press briefing on Wednesday. "China will be in coordination with new members of the Russian government to implement the agreements that have been reached. The two countries’ governments will work together to take bilateral relations to a new level. That meets the interests of both states, international interests and will also contribute to global stability and development," the diplomat noted. On January 15, the entire Russian government led by Dmitry Medvedev resigned in response to changes proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. On January 16, Mikhail Mishustin was approved for the position of new Prime Minister of Russia. On January 21, the Russian leader approved the new structure of the Russian government and its members in a presidential decree. The new Russian government consists of 9 deputy prime ministers and 21 ministers, eight of whom have been newly appointed for their positions.
