Chinese deputy PM to visit Russia in early September

BEIJING, August 28. /TASS/.China’s Deputy Prime Minister Wang Yang is due to pay an official visit to Russia on September 4-8, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying told reporters on Monday. "At the invitation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin and Special Presidential Envoy for the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, Wang Yang will visit Russia on September 4-8," Chunying said. According to the diplomat, Wang will attend a meeting of deputy prime ministers and take part in the work of the third Eastern Economic Forum and also the first intergovernmental commission of China’s northern provinces and Russia’s Far Eastern regions. The third Eastern Economic Forum will take place in Vladivostok on September 6-7. The forum is the biggest international communication platform for cooperation between businesses, political and expert communities from Russia, the Pacific Region and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The event organizers report confirmations received from 24 delegations, including representatives of China, Japan, Australia, Canada and the US, as well as European countries like the UK, Germany and others. In 2016, the forum drew 3,500 participants, who presented 111 projects worth total investments of 2.2 trillion rubles ($37 billion). The forum's delegations signed 216 agreements worth 1.85 trillion rubles ($31 billion). TASS is the event’s general information partner and moderator of the investment projects’ presentation zone.
