Chinese FM Hopes For Settlement Of Iran N-issue

New York, Oct 1, IRNA – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hoped for settlement of the Iranian nuclear issue through negotiations. Talking to IRNA on Tuesday, he noted that a new space for interactions has been opened for Iran and 5+1 to settle the issue of Irans peaceful nuclear program. Commenting on the recent meeting between Iranian nuclear delegation led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and the 5+1 foreign ministers, he said Iran has repeatedly stressed that it is not pursuing nuclear arms but at the same time makes it clear that as a member of the international community it has the absolute right to use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. The Chinese foreign minister further hoped that the two parties would achieve good progress during their October talks. He said that Beijing, as a member of the 5+1, will try to play a positive role in the talks./end
