Chinese Officials Praises Iran’s Continued Cooperation To Resolve Nuclear Standoff

Beijing, Oct 13, IRNA – A member of Chinese State Council Yang Jiechi hailed Iran’s well intention and continued cooperation in line with solving its nuclear standoff with the West. He made the remarks in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Morteza Sarmadi, who is in China to discuss the upcoming round of talks between Iran and G5+1. Reiterating Iran’s interactive approach towards all countries, Sarmadi hoped that the new round of negotiations would take place in an atmosphere dominated by cooperation and the win-win policy. Recalling Iran’s policy of consolidating Tehran-Beijing ties, he noted that international and regional collaboration between the two states with an aim of promoting peace and stability in Asia and the world is one of the priorities of the Iranian foreign policy. Sarmadi also reiterated his country’s policy of non-intervention as well as its opposition to the sanctions imposed on it. At the end of the meeting, both sides underlined opposition to instrumental use of extremist forces as well as the need to fight terrorism and extremism. They also supported diplomatic approach to Syrian crisis. Sarmadi also conveyed invitation of President Rouhani to his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, to visit Tehran./end
