Ch.Saikhanbileg PM talks about governmental policy and measures for herders

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg addressed the Friday's plenary meeting of the parliamentary session on the government policy and measures taken towards herders. Presently, the agricultural sector generates 18.0% of the Mongolian GDP and employs over 30% of total workforces, said the Prime Minister underlining that the agricultural sector, particularly the animal husbandry plays a vital role in diversifying the national economy, building up adequate economic structure and enhancing competitiveness of Mongolian organic products at the international market. Saikhanbileg presented the governmental policy and measures taken to improve livelihood of herder families and develop the animal husbandry sector, while focusing on the implementation of the state policy on food and agriculture, actions for ensuring social guarantee of herders, maximizing herders’ income, developing light and food industries as well as programs for supporting herders’ employment.
