Closure Of Canadian Embassy Indicates Confusion Of Zionist Regime's Allies - MP

Tehran, Sept 9, IRNA – A member of Iranian Parliament (Majlis) said Sunday that closure of the Canadian embassy in Tehran indicated frustration of the West and the Zionist regime's allies for dealing with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Ahmad Bakhshayeshi told IRNA that closure of the Canadian embassy in Tehran was a nonconformist act of Ottawa that was furious at Iran's power during the 16th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement which was held in the Iranian capital from August 26-31.. Prime Minister of the Zionist regime Benjamin Netanyahu who had criticized NAM participants for not leaving the conference hall during the anti-Israeli speech of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during the Summit's inaugural ceremony, praised closure of the Canadian embassy in Tehran considering it as Ottawa's support for the Zionist regime, said the MP. He argued that Canada was forced to close its embassies in some countries, including Iran, as the country was involved in a grave economic crisis. For the same reason, Bakhshayeshi added, Ottawa has started evacuating its Tehran embassy since four months ago but finally decided to pretend that its closure was for Iran's support for Syria. As for mounting international pressures on Iran, the parliamentarian said the US and the Zionist regime who found their military threats against Iran as useless, thought they could isolate Tehran by imposing further sanctions. Dismissing the idea, Bakhshayeshi said they were acting in vain./end
